Buying Information

Please read all the information on this page.

To buy one of my original paintings, please complete the form at the bottom of the page where you are viewing the picture. This will take you directly to PAY PAL to  make your payment. This can be by credit or debit card or using your Pay Pal account. You will receive a confirmatory email, as will I on completion.

Paintings are usually shipped without a frame unless specifically stated below the picture, as frames are more likely to be damaged in transit. No picture will be sent with glass for the same reason.

Each painting is individually wrapped – first in paper, then bubble-wrap and finally packed in a sturdy cardboard box, which is securely sealed. Small boxes or jiffy bags will be used for small works.

Prints will be sent in a cardboard tube with plastic protection inside, by first class mail and cards also by normal postal services.

Most paintings are shipped using Parcelforce or UPS parcel post with tracking. Extra insurance is added to cover their value in case of accidents on the way. Smaller paintings are shipped without tracking.

Upgrades are available to include tracking for small paintings, or faster delivery for all others. Please indicate if you require any of these in the box at the bottom of the form, so I can calculate the additional costs and give you a quote. They are payable in advance.

Once you have paid for your artwork (plus any transportation costs – see below), I will despatch your order. All orders will be dispatched within 10 days of your order, except in extenuating circumstances, when you will be notified.

Within Mainland UK: the price of regular shipping is included with the painting price. For extras, see above.

For Northern Ireland & Scottish Highlands & Islands: add £20 at checkout.

For Europe: add £50 at checkout.

All other countries: please contact me before purchasing and I will advise on the extra charges depending on the country where you live.

IMPORTANT: Please note that you will be also be responsible for any import taxes.

Please contact me before purchasing. I will obtain a quote and email you.

Although I try to represent the art as close to real life as possible, photos can never do justice to artworks. Please note that computer monitors differ on how they show colours, so please understand colours on the original may vary slightly. Please be assured that the original will be better in real life.

These have been varnished and do not need to be framed behind glass.

Oils require approximately 6 months, preferably 12, before a permanent varnish can be applied.

Oil paintings less than 6 months old will have a temporary layer of Gamblin artists medium applied to protect the surface but still allow it to breathe and continue drying.

A final gloss, satin or matte varnish can be used after 6 months without removing the layer of medium.

Paintings older than 6 months will already be varnished with a non-yellowing final varnish.

Oils will be dry to the touch, they dry slowly over many years and need the protection of varnish to protect them as they are not traditionally framed behind glass.
Normal household cleaning should be undertaken with a very light dusting only, or if necessary a damp cloth can be used. Never use chemical sprays on any painting.

These have also been protected either with a gel finish or varnish so can be framed with or without glass.

Works are not shown on my website until they are dry. If you wish to purchase a painting from Instagram for example, I will advise you when it can be shipped.

Please be aware that all of the paintings are originals, I hold the copyright to them, they may not be copied or duplicated in any way and this also applies to commissioned paintings.

I may make prints or cards in the future from my paintings, I hold the copyright indefinitely, it does not get passed on with ownership of the painting. I will not make cards or prints from commissioned paintings without prior arrangement.

I take commissions for abstract paintings . Each one needs to be planned individually with you, so please use the contact form to begin this discussion with me. You can see some works ’In situ’ if you go to that page.
